Choosing a runner and hallway rug
A runner protects the most walked-on areas of the home. Chosen well, it protects the floor and makes a narrow hallway look tidier.
Width
The ideal width leaves 10–15 cm free on each side of the hallway. Covering it wall to wall makes the hallway look narrower.
Length
A runner should end in line with the doors at the start and end of the hallway. Check which way the doors open; if the rug goes under a door, choose a low-profile design.
In the kitchen
The area in front of the counter is where you stand the most. Short-pile, easy-to-wipe runners with a non-slip backing are practical here. Patterned designs have the advantage of hiding stains.
Stairs
On stairs, a non-slip surface is a must. A runner 5 cm narrower than the step, fixed with stair rods, is both safe and stylish.
Choosing the texture
In high-traffic areas, densely woven short-pile designs last longer. Long-pile runners flatten quickly.
If the standard runner sizes do not fit your hallway, you can set the length yourself with the custom size option. Have a look at the products page for designs.
